Founded in 1978 by the Companhia União dos Refinadores – Açúcar e Café, Café Pilão was created to meet the growing demand for a stronger, more robust coffee in Brazil. The brand quickly gained popularity, becoming synonymous with bold flavor and energy. In 2000, Pilão became part of Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE), a global coffee company headquartered in the Netherlands, which expanded its reach and innovation in the Brazilian market.
